Problems claiming some un employment benefit pay

I have recently been sacked from my job. I was let go without any warning and i feel it was very unfair. I have been trying to claim some sort of compensation. I have tried claiming jobseekers but they will not let me apply yet because i was sacked and not made redundant. There must be some sort of unemployment benefits severance pay i can claim whilst i am trying to fight the decision to help me out. I could be going through the courts and it could take months but i need some money from somewhere to cover me in this time otherwise i am going to end up losing my house as well as my job!. I have tried to make an appeal with my company but they are not willing to listen. I think it will end up going through the courts to be honest but i need to first sort out my finances because i am sure doing this will end up costing me in the long run. I need some help!
