Carmen has been a school counselor for the last twelve years. People often ask her what made her stay on the job for a long time, considering that it was her first employment. Carmen readily tells them how much she enjoys working with young kids. One time she said, It helps to surround yourself with young people because you will not grow old. She certainly has a point. Anyway as a counselor, one of her favorite activities is the annual leadership training that she gives to the student leaders. She likes the idea of being able to contribute to the formation of these young minds who will be leaders in society when the time comes. Carmen sees this as an opportunity to instill in the minds of these kids the value of public service. Every time she conducts training or seminars, Carmen never fails to remind the kids the essence of true leadership, which is service. Very soon, Carmen is leaving to chaperone a group of students who will represent the school for a leadership camp in Singapore.
